coop says:

that episode was prob. the worst episode iv ever seen…they have cleaned up this show so much that its almost not worth watching anymore….they havent made a GREAT episode in years

13 March 2008, 04:45

goober says:

Episode sucked bad. Hate to say it, been a fan for years.

13 March 2008, 04:53

Jon says:

C’mon Matt and Trey, you seriously couldn’t come up with anything better than that for the season premiere? I’m a bit let down. I mean, it WAS pretty funny up until the ridiculousness about injecting cash into one’s veins.

13 March 2008, 05:43

Anon says:

Oh and like some of the other shit they have come up with has not been overly far-fetched? they have always done over the top, non reality based things, its not abnormal.

13 March 2008, 05:48

Eric says:

Has it already aired? Where are the downloads for it? I thought it only started airing 10 minutes ago…

13 March 2008, 06:12

Mr. Mung says:

how did you rate it? my download is stuck at 59%

13 March 2008, 06:18

cartman says:

it was an okay episode.

that “hiv positive” was hilarious though!

13 March 2008, 06:40

Alan says:

ok….to people saying that the ep sucked or wasn’t funny…..did you even GET the part about the research scientists saying that CASH is the cure for AIDS?!?!?!?! …how much money has gone into researching cures to cancer & AIDS?? At least $1.05 ….And the last thing that the medical research industry “cured” was polio…I thought it was hiv positively hilarious how they worked in that jab at the pharmacology/pharmaceutical research field as being nothing but a money drain.

13 March 2008, 07:40

Adam says:

My new favorite episode! And by favorite, I mean least favorite.

The premise is better than the execution… and the premise is that Cartman and Kyle contract, then cure HIV over the span of a 22 minute episode… Yeah.

13 March 2008, 07:57

Adam says:

And I get the joke about money being the cure for AIDS. That’s good satire. Unfortunately that, and the moment in the hospital room when the doctor gave the news, were the only two times I chuckled.

Ah, well. There are more, presumably better, episodes to come.

13 March 2008, 08:04

Marjax says:

It was a let down. I busted my ass laughing when the doctor told Eric they made a mistake and he has AIDS. I snickered when Kyle punched Eric at Magic Johnson’s house over the “HIV positive” comments. But that was it. The tie-in to Magic Johnson at all seemed pretty far-fetched, even for South Park’s standards. Concentrating $180,000 for intravenous injection was too. And yeah, the satire on pumping money into research is noted, but even still it was too off the wall for South Park.
I think they raised a good point about how there’s a lot less emphasis on HIV/AIDS nowadays and the predominant emphasis is on Cancer. The episode still just seemed off track compared to what they’ve done in the past. It just didn’t live up to expectations — the buildup of the new season, and the hilarity of the first 5 minutes of the show really, really went south thereafter.
Hope episode 2 is a LOT better.

13 March 2008, 09:14

Marjax says:

Oh, and in reply to Anon:

Yes, they’ve done more ridiculous, off the wall things. But its never been serious. Injecting cash was seriously their cure for AIDS.

What did they do previously? Hide their heads in the sand so terrorists won’t think they support Family Guy. It wasn’t an actual defense mechanism, just sheer stupidity. Same thing goes for the Global Warming thing, or BFF’s holding power in a court of law… these things were just stupidity that had no outcome on the situation.

13 March 2008, 13:36

GodFather77 says:

i liked it because i think that that episode sent a message, and i think that the message waz sint’s it waz the money that cured them that that means that you need money to find the cure for HIV. i think we have that they have the cure but peolpe with HIV dont have the money for the cure. So what i am trying to say is sints its the money that cured them that its money that we need to get the cure…plus the episode waz very suprising.

lola says:

MUST DOWNLOADCANT WAIT…. AHHH….
Seriously, where are the effing downloads?

13 March 2008, 16:59

Bob says:

I felt a bit uncomfortable watching that but South Park has always been about pushing boundaries. It’s not conventional entertainment but it makes you think about things you wouldn’t normally want to think about and from a different point of view. And there were a few laughs in there as well. People might not like it but that doesn’t stop it being pure genius.

Downloads are over here www.southparkfiles.com

13 March 2008, 19:48

WTF was that? It wasnt fukcing funny! U hear me? It wasnt fukcing funny! Perhaps one of the weakest episode among all 11 season episodes…

13 March 2008, 23:01

this episode was definitely worth the wait. i couldn’t stop laughing!!! :-D!

14 March 2008, 00:09

squirrelizza says:

maybe a good message in it, but there wasnt the real southpark-heart in it! i dont know who wrote this episode … too simple, not smart enough, no heart, ….
AND the “real” Kyle would never laugh at anyone who got AIDS!

14 March 2008, 02:43

James Dean says:

Aren’t u guys exaggerating a bit? ;] I think it was pretty funny. It’s a comedy show for Christ sake, u shouldn’t be whinig so much :) We all know it used to be better but it’s still not as bad as Family Guy recently…

14 March 2008, 02:56

EL mas cabron says:

To: squirrelizza
Thats totally true “the “real” Kyle would never laugh at anyone who got AIDS!” And the episode was ok… not the best ofcourse..

14 March 2008, 06:28

Kris says:

I happen to think that South Park gets better and better each year. Season 11 was awesome. So many great episodes. That being said, I did think that this episode was weaker than any in season 11. But I’ve always equated South Park to Pizza and Sex. Even when its really bad, its still pretty damn good.

14 March 2008, 06:50

Myballs says:

Oh well. The graphic is of course better ALOT.
Haha.Kyle laugh so much cause cartman annoyed him all 11 season NON-STOP?
Well.Looking forward to the next episode

i think the writters are loosing touch of the…“niavness” and childishness of the boys but there rest of the characters are still SUPER FUNNYYY

14 March 2008, 08:32

The Wulf says:

This board is a sad example of “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” or so I hope as the only other alternative is that the people here are actually that stupid. This episode is quite possibly the worst ever aired—even worse than Stanley’s Cup. I take SouthPark quite seriously and so even when comedy is weak can take enjoyment from the other aspects of the show—I was not able to this time. It seems to me that the episode probably had more meaning to Trey and Matt than the public—perhaps some recent critism on their frequent AIDs humour—however, for whatever the reason that season 12 opened with such a poor episode, it still remains 2-3 star material and I sincerely hope that the second redeems it (perhaps they will finally parody House M.D.—that would definitely make for a good episode).

14 March 2008, 09:58

south park viewer says:

The Wulf – you are exactly right. One of the worst episodes ever. What happened to the first seasons humor and jokes? This episode is not a very promising beginning for the new season. I hope they manage to come out with better material. I mean, I don’t want them to preach about todays world issues, I just want Stan, Kenny, Cartman and Kyle to do what they usually used to do in the good old days.

14 March 2008, 12:14

Turd Sandwich says:

At the end of the day guys

IT’S JUST A COMEDY CARTOON!

There have been better, there have been worse. Personally I don’t think it was terrible, therefore they can still redeem themselves. But Matt and Trey have been doing this for ages, towards the end their ideas will start to dwindle.

Oh, and ‘The Wulf’: Sad man, seriously, sad. No one should take South Park seriously except the critics that slag every episode. Fans judge the humour, not the message.

GET A GRIP EVERYONE. IT’S A F***ING CARTOON. 3 MORE SEASONS TO GO AFTER THIS ONE.

Xak says:

I can’t believe all you people bitching so much about the new episode and about spx. It wasn’t the best episode but it still was good. I don’t know how all those people that moan here weren’t so lazy to type all those crap but were too lazy to google for the episode. SPX is the best website for Southpark, they’ve always been here providing us with episodes, so show some respect, they don’t get paid to do so and how do you know that the guys didn’t something more important to do then to upload some episodes for a bunch of ungratefuls. If you don’t like SPX don’t visit it and if you think you can do a better job, do it!
Peace

RelaxeD says:

At the begining i couldn’t wait to see new episodes, but now, they r gettnig boring… Cartman became 222222 smart, and they somehow lost touch…Episodes r getting so predictable, if u understand what i’m trying to say.. If u remember episodes like, Scot Tenorman must die, kenny dies and so on try to compare them with “The list” and new one’s…

15 March 2008, 00:59

DreaDNoughT says:

that’s soo true RelaxeD, though i found the imaginationland series funny, though it wasnt nearly as funny as scot tenorman must die, or woodland critter christmas.. that’s probably my favorite episode..

15 March 2008, 09:31

sp guy #1 says:

thank god! i couldnt wait any longer…

15 March 2008, 09:59

Stil laughing says:

damn ppl stop f***ing bitching so much! you’re only complaining because you comparing it to their best episodes! it really wasn’t as bad as everyone is saying… go watch it again and you’ll see there are plenty of funny parts! (eg. doctor n the ice-cream after giving eric aids, “hiv positive” comments, butters kissing eric, clyde frog, etc! ok it wasn’t the best but thats why the other ep’s were soooooo good (COS THEY NOT EASY TO TOP)! so please if u gonna keep complaining go f**ken watch re-runs of Friends or Gilmore Girls for all i care!
South Park is stil funny!!

15 March 2008, 12:31

InToXiCaTeD says:

Yep,they are still funny…I just watched the ep…I love Sp and if anyone could make a better ep let me know…The best part ( Kyle laughing on Cartmans aids xD hahahaha killed me )

this is a great eposide watched it the other day

16 March 2008, 18:00

SP wiseguy says:

was a nice episode i think. to the comments that said kyle wouldnt laugh a an AIDS patient.. stan said it all. hes not laughing at the aids, but at the irony. and remember he hate cartman, not to wierd is it.. Some things were funny, like butters kissing, the cancer thing, the docor, the laughing when eric says that free ice cream remark.. and very funny like the hiv positive. Im still feeling so bad about clyde frog :|

17 March 2008, 02:19

SP wiseguy says:

oh, and ppl confusing Eric and Kyle as lovers was also hilarous. Also the idea of eric giving kyle aids (and the principal reacting on it) was also amzingly funny

17 March 2008, 02:21

Mr Roboto says:

Ok even comparing this episode to some of the worst like Free Hat,Stanley’s Cup,Lice Capades,Bloody Mary,Manbearpig,etc.. It sucked! Not that it was just boring and predictable but it wasn’t funny. What’s up Trey? Do you think that you’re such a genius that we’ll laugh at anything you want us too? This episode was like one big inside joke that none of us were in on. I’m not saying that they should rehash all the old episodes but it might be time to hire some writers. I love South Park it just seems to me that the last few seasons are becoming more like The Simpsons are only a lot earlier. However I give you guys credit for not having two dozen writers on the payroll. The show is being dumbed down so low that it’s just not funny anymore. Crazy and stupid plot lines are good once in a while to break up the monotony but geez.

To all the people getting all teary-eyed because we’re not all on Matt & Trey’s Dick, it’s ok not to like some South Park episodes. Even the creators have some they don’t particularly love. This forum is for opinions of the new episodes. OPINIONS not just yours so quitch yer whinin.

17 March 2008, 18:44

Escuerd says:

“And the last thing that the medical research industry “cured” was polio”

Polio wasn’t ever cured, it was wiped out in many countries through vaccination and if things continue as they are, it’s on its way to extinction pretty soon. Cures, unlike vaccines, are treatments that restore the health of people who’ve already developed a disease. I can’t think of a single viral disease that has been cured yet. But there weren’t really true cures for anything less than a century ago. Advances as momentous as the first vaccines or antibiotics are rare. Even new vaccines and antibiotics take a lot of time to develop. But they do get developed and it is a worthwhile pursuit (if you can keep the maximum amount of money possible going toward the actual research).
