Sam says:

As a big South Park and 24 fan, I have to say I really enjoyed this episode!

29 March 2007, 07:59

Breag says:

i just felt like i HAD to say something..

isnt anyone else irritated but the sudden flood of subtle and obvious advertising from south park????... noone else seems to notice but it gives me the shits…

a whole episode dedicated to world of warcraft?.. the wii.. anyone notice all the characters only drink Coronas.. and now a clear pay-off from google to advertise youtube, myspace, google…..etc….etc…. and to top it off they slag Ask.com….

was a pretty funny episode though… just had to get that out cos its sad how such a unique and expressive show can be so easily baught-out…

29 March 2007, 09:21

Sam says:

@Breag, Heh.. yeh, there was some serious plugging going on in this episode!

29 March 2007, 09:54

Redwuzard says:

Dude, Breag, That’s part of the joke! If you want to make fun of something you choose something that is popular. The Wow episode was making fun of people who spend 24 hours a day playing MMORPG’s, The Wii episode was about idiots who build tents outside game stores and spend thousands of dollars on gaming consoles. Besides, companies like Blizzard dont need people like South Park to advertise for them.

29 March 2007, 11:06

Genji Works says:

LOL. It’s not really advertising. I doubt MYSPACE really wants to be advertized that way. Nor does Hilary Clinton. South Park uses ‘cultural icons’ to parodize in their episodes. That is the reason they have been around for so long. They keep up with current events and we the viewers can relate to it.

I mean that episode alone had so many ‘cultural refrences’ in it. Whether they get paid or not, which is highly doubtful, remains a mystery. That’s the good thing about ‘parody’ you can use almost anything as long as it suppose to be parody… No royalties need to be paid. Blee!

they actually put the item “the sword of a thousand truths” or whatever it was in the expansion of WOW... it sux

29 March 2007, 11:28

lemi says:

lol i agree it’s not really advertising as much.. and do u really think these companys would pay to advertise on such a politcaly incorect show… i cant believe south park gets aways with some of it’s jokes… but i think it’s brilliant…. you will get the jews someday eric … someday

29 March 2007, 11:33

Jeff says:

you guys are retarded, they use myspace, youtube and google and shit to show how stupid the american inteligence agency is, and how they rely on tips and the internet for their intel. aka terrorist “chatter”

Panos says:

Best episode in season 11 so far!

Jereem Abdul Harrezee says:

South Park is turning into a Ripon-Fest.

29 March 2007, 15:32

Darken Rhal says:

Granted, although this episode does seem to plug any and all internet-based companies, it was still a good episode. What most of you guys seem to be missing though is the concept of mass hysteria. Nowadays people are obsessed with Islamic terrists but lest we forget the Cold War? The paranioa has shifted from commies invading al la “Red Dawn” style to sucide bombers on airplanes. And before that, it was the Koreans and the Viet Kong(?), and before that it was Germans…the list goes on forever…

Dude who gives a shit you have to admit the “google it” and “check his blog” and “myspace him” was fucking funny as shit. like every single reference they make to something i do daily just makes me laugh harder… the WoW thing was definitally the best. But overall my fav episode is still “Succubus”.... tree fiddy

30 March 2007, 00:13

tommy83 says:

not really that funny, south park went from an intelligent humor to obvious fart jokes. they will never be able to make classic episodes again.

30 March 2007, 00:22

SooperGeenyus says:

Listen to Trey and Matt’s commentary on the season 9 DVD for the Best Friends Forever (PSP) episode. They say that they didn’t get paid by Sony for that episode, they just really, really love video games. So they try to balance it out by using a Nintendo product the next time. And no, they weren’t promoting Google, the joke was that an 8 year old with internet access could do a better job of locating terror threats than the U.S. Government. “I’m in charge here!”

30 March 2007, 07:53

Breag says:

fair enoug theyre passionate about video games… theyre also clear republican supporters which shows throughout the series.. but are they super-passionate about coronas?... or are they so passionate about google that they will go out of thier way to pay out ask.com and go through google related products?>.. theyree selling outttttt…. south park is still great but its just a matter of time before all they eat is maccas and all wear gucci..

South Park is essentially a commentary on modern life. Obviously they’re going to use such things that are popular (they’re even more likely to use them if they’re so overly popular that they’re easy to mock!)

It’s not a payoff or advertising or anything, you’re just thinking wayyyy to hard my friend. What they are, are RECOGNIZABLE SIGNS OF SOCIETY. DUH!

And if it’s driving you crazy, well, then bury your head in the sand so you don’t see it, and we’ll come dig you out when it’s all gone. (teehee)

30 March 2007, 15:56

Sam says:

@Neil: Haha, well said!

30 March 2007, 17:20

Adam says:

“theyre also clear republican supporters which shows throughout the series” they do act right wing but only because everyone else is acting so liberal they want to stand out from the crowd watch vote or die it will clear up were they stood in the 2004 election

Marp says:

I enjoyed this one .. finally some episode only about cartman, kyle, stan and others … cuz I hate those episoded where the half of it is some side story like lices … I wanna see the old school one, like 7th or 9th season !!!

Hey Dude,

I just like this message borad as much as the episodes… Peopele are just so absurd sometimes, are not they???

Looking forward to next one…

blodwulf says:

Actually, it is advertising, just not deliberate advertising. The publicity is good for the companies/individuals. Any seriousness in the humour, while not subtle, is still too subtle for the typical SouthPark-watching idiot to do any damage to the respective entities.

As for the fellow/idiot who commented on there being humor in an ’8 year old being able to do a better job at Googling for terrorists-’ you’re off by a long shot. While amusing, this was obviously a very serious message about how much our liberties, more specifically, our privacy is exploited by the Government through the use of internet organizations like MySpace, etc.

And as for the moron who said that South Park is right-winged: you’re way off too. They ridicule both extremes- clearly South Park has a Libertarian standpoint.

And as for the biggest moron of all who was going on about ‘lest we forget the Cold War.’ That’s so damn stupid in a ‘you-think-you’re-actually-intelligent’ manner that there’s no correction to even bother to be made.

2 April 2007, 05:23

Darren says:

Breag, south park would never get paid off to put something in an episode. They do it them selfs. You think a couple grand matters to them. This is all thier ideas and no one has ever paid them to put something in an episode. That would be like PSP paying to get a whole episode done for them, it’s crazy talk. Let them do what they do best.

2 April 2007, 10:09

Neil says:

I think this episode was one of the funniest (if not THE funniest) of all time.

3 April 2007, 18:57

Pauly says:

This episode was not very funny. I tried to let south park work its magic, but it didn’t work. Between this episode and the Oprah episode I laughed only once, and I am a south park fanatic! (I think Matt and Trey are heroic). South Park often crosses lines, maybe the snizz line just isn’t a funny one to cross? Hillary Clinton is just too bland to be funny, maybe if it was Bush’s snizz it would be funnier.

5 April 2007, 01:55

Pauly says:

(^To clarify, the above comment) I meant GEORGE Bush’s snizz.
